CHB to Launch New Affordable Housing 1700 Flats
CHB to launch New 1700 Flats under affordable housing scheme Oct 2014, it announces on 16 Oct, now Chandigarh people may apply for new 1700 flats. It has to start registration on CHB official website. As last time, many candidates were applied for CHB flats scheme, now they will get another chance for 1700 new flats in sectors 51 and 54 in Chandigarh.
Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) schemes is to construct approximately new 1700 flats like one room flats. One room flats is EWS and 1 BHK is for under low income people, 2 BHK flats will for middle income people and 3 BHK flats will for high income group people. CHB will construct these flats at Sector 51 and 54 in Chandigarh City.

The Chandigarh Housing Board is aim to provides affordable housing as new self financing housing schemes in sectors 51 and sectors 54. There will be build up around 1700 new one room, 1BHK, 2BHK 3BHK flats for various categories. CHB floats a new scheme which is for all categories, and may enough around 1700 flats this year.
CHB housing schemes, 3BHK (HIG), 2 BHK (MIG), 1 BHK (LIG) and one-room flats for economically (BPL) or similary, but high profile and middle will get apartments here.
For apartments in the area 54, a consulting architect would be selected by a design competition at national level. The design to be sustainable and energy efficient. Land is scarce in Chandigarh. The stress would be given on the optimal use of the same. The apartments also have provisions for rainwater and using solar energy.
Chandigarh Housing Board Chairman, BS Bhalla said the two plans will be announced at the earliest. Modalities should be developed in detail in the coming days. Bhalla said there was a huge demand for housing in general the city to meet the BHC which floated plans.
In recent years the focus has been on building CHB slum as part of the refurbishment project and general housing plans were shelved. The scheme for UT employees was introduced is in turmoil.
In summer also decided at the meeting that the allocation of specific housing units for 160 two-bedroom apartments that are completed would be made on October 28 Award and possession of housing must be given to all candidates who have filed the cost of the dish. Possession is to be delivered in November 2014.
Board members also agreed that the commercial property card that is lying vacant would be leased for a period of three years. There are 143 properties that the board found no takers. These would be leased through open auction. Preference will be given to banks, government agencies, independent agencies and boards and corporations.
